The first, and longest leg, was completed by Ian and Greg, and left the team middle order of a pack of 24. Martin the motor assisted by Sherri the steerer took the scenic route and traversed Carlisle Bay much to the amusement of the supporters gathered on the shore. After, a long and arduous leg they hande over to Donovan and Moira. After a last minute tactical change bringing Moira to the helm with Donovan sunbathing in the rear they did not suffer the same fate as leg 2! With Moira showing why she is the Palates Queen of Barbados and shouting 1.2.1.2.1.2 at an ambivalent Donovan they settled into a steady rhythm managing to rectify some of the damage done by Leg 2. Omar and Richard started the fourth leg with gusto and once Richard had finished his fag was able to settle into a good stride. Disaster hit again in the fifth leg when Romeo and Damian managed to capsize within seconds of leaving the shore, however, after righting themselves they were able to continue at a rate of knots handing over to the final team pairing. Harold and Jonathan were given the dubious task of bring home the Rugby Barbados Team. What they lacked in technic they certainly made up for in determination. As they rounded the second to last buoy with two boats in striking distance, they struck out for home. Despite Harold bending his oar in two they brought the team home in sixteenth place. A throughly good time was had by all especially when we bought some cheap rum punch and discovered and unattended loud hailer!
